About Barcelona

Situated at the seaside and capital of Catalonia, Barcelona is the second biggest city in Spain after Madrid in terms of both population and size. The comfortable sub-mediteranean climate also ensure comfortable temperature all year round, with lowest average temperatures at around 9 degree celcius between December to February and highest average temperatures at 24 degree celsius between July and August.

After a wave of Catalan Modernisme or Art Nouveau style hit Barcelona in the late 19th century and early 20th century, buildings designed by modernisme influenced architects sprung up all over Barcelona. Antonio Gaudi emerged to become one of the most influential architects and his works have left lasting impressions all over the city.

Rich in culture and blessed with sunlight all year round, Barcelona city has emerged to become one of Europe's top tourist destinations.
