Barcelona Cathedral

 

The main church in Barcelona, the gothic Cathedral is located at Placa de la Seu in the Barri Gotic. The present Cathedral was built on top of a Roman basilica that was destroyed by the Moors in medieval times.

The gothic design of the building is similar with the La Sagrada Familia although it is less elaborated. For those who want to take a look at the entire old city, It is possible to reach the roof of the Cathedral through a lift in the Cathedral.

Entrance fees for the museum, choir, rooftop amd crypt is 4 Euros. The church and interesting cloister opens from 8 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. while the museum opens from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The nearest metro is at Jaume I.
