El Call

El Call is a medieval synagogue discovered in the jewish quarters in Barri Gotic after being forgotten by the world. It has been there since Roman times. It was forgotten after a wave of anti-semitism forced Jews in the city to either be murdered or convert to christianity. The synagogue was only recently discovered and open to public after restoration.

To learn more about the Jews living in Barcelona in medieval times, visit El Call where there will be guided tours given in english, hebrew, and spanish. Admission is to the synagogue is 2 Euros and it is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from tuesday to saturday and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on sundays.

The nearest metro station is at Jaume I.
