Museu d'Historia de Catalunya

Situated at Port Vell in a 19th century Palau de Mar (Sea Palace), the museum contains Catalan information and exhibits about Catalonia from stone age to medieval Catalonia under Rome and the Moors to Catalonia during the Spanish civil war to present day Catalonia and the bustling Barcelona city. This is an interactive museum with visitors able to engage themselves with activities such as picking up a crusader's sword, hiding in a bomb shelter and siting in a 20th century tram. In all, this museum tells you everything you need to know about the history of Catalonia in a fun and exciting way.

To reach the museum, alight at metro stations Drassanes or Barceloneta and take a short walk to Port Vell. Admission fees are 4 Euros and opening hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from tuesdays to saturdays except on wednesdays which open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The museum is also open from 10 a.m. to to 2.30 p.m. on sundays.
