Palau de la Musica Catalana

Palau de la Musica Catalana is a concert hall and is treated as an alternative for Teatre del Liceu for performances. Built in the early part of the 20th century, it was granted status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Hospital de Sant Pau in 1997. The gorgeous concert hall is the only auditorium in Europe that can be illuminated by natural light during the day. This was done through the extensive use of stained glasses and an inverted dome simulating the sky and sun.

Located in the La Ribera district, It costs 8 Euros for a tour of Palau de la Musica Catalana. Opening hours are from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. with daily concerts avaliable. Palau de la Musica Catalana can be reached via Urquinaona metro station.
